Goms Trail

I gleam with a fresh whiteness every morning. Sometimes, I’m icy. Sometimes, I’m powdery and light. I reflect the clear blue sky. People drive on me, tread on me and pester me with sticks. I can bring you really close to nature. Every minute you spend with me will make your life go better. May I introduce myself? I am the Goms Trail.

Winter fun

Naturally, the mountain villages of the Goms

Cross-country skiing, fat biking, winter hiking, skiing, snow shoe trekking or curling – you’ll be thrilled by the mountain villages of the Goms. Our high mountain valley is seen as one of the most reliably snowy valleys in the Alps. With up to 300 sunny days every year, the pleasure of winter sports in the pristine natural world of the mountain villages of the Goms is soon transformed into a winter wonderland.

Winter activities

Gluringen ski lift

The family lift for the Goms – the place to go to learn to ski

The Gluringen ski lift is directly opposite the Tenne: it’s small, relaxed and friendly. Just right for families, beginner skiers and anyone else who wants to take a more leisurely approach...

- It runs its own ski and snowboard school (catering for anyone, from beginners to the advanced)
- It serves both valley and mountain-top stations
- It’s also ideal for families with younger children who don’t (yet) ski,
because of the sledging trail set out beside the actual piste

Skiing

Moments of pleasure

The smaller ski areas in the valley, with their broad, gently sloping pistes, are definitely the best choice for families. For racing fans and adrenaline junkies, some of the best skiing and snowboarding areas in the Valais are just a stone’s throw away. The Aletsch Arena (Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp) offers dozens of state-of-the-art options over about 100 kilometres of pistes. The Bellwald ski area lies even closer to us. A trip to Andermatt-Sedrun is also a breeze from the mountain villages of the Goms. The Matterhorn Gotthard Railway lets you get to all the different areas very quickly.

Family holidays in the Goms

where children can still be children

In the Goms, children can still be children. We definitely want them to let off steam and conquer nature for themselves here! Children don’t really need a timetable after all, they just need free time. You can choose to spend this time with your children at the playgrounds, the mini golf course, leisure facilities, pistes and cross-country trails, on sledging trails, having adventures, playing games and having fun. The mountain villages of the Goms offer children plenty of all these things, either because they’re available naturally or because they’ve been created for them by other people. Enjoy yourself with your children. Just have some fun!
