Pinot Noir "noblesse oblige"

Isabella & Stéphane Kellenberger, Vin d’oeuvre, Leuk Stadt
Description (detail)

Although still young, this wine is already characterized by intense berry fruit and pepper. Aging in barrique barrels enhances its complexity and adds vanilla, caramel, and a delicate smoky note to the fragrant berry aromas. Indeed: nobility obliges.

When Pinot Noir is aged in barriques, its berry-like aromas develop a deep spiciness, greater structure and complexity. Matured Pinot Noir possesses a poetic elegance, playfully revealing its nuances whilst remaining delicate. A fine choice for Pinot lovers. Perfect for enjoying by the fireside with a good book.

More about the wine cellar

Vin d'Oeuvre, Leuk town

Isabella & Stéphane Kellenberger from the Vin d'oeuvre winery in Leuk Stadt are happy to share their passion... because they are available in bottles, in white and red, contemporary or more traditional, ready to enjoy immediately or for storage - tailored to a variety of tastes.

The two met while studying oenology in Vaud. Their relationship is no longer just professional, but also personal. They have two children. Their common strengths lie in the breadth of their individual professional experience, their different interests and the contrasting nature of their personal traits, which nevertheless harmonize perfectly, just like in a good wine.

They produce 17 different wines from indigenous and international grape varieties at their family winery Vin d'oeuvre in Leuk. They travel miles for good wine, as their vineyards stretch from Fully in the Lower Valais to Visperterminen in the Upper Valais - in short, through the entire Valais.

Vin d'oeuvre is a play on words made up of the French "vin" (wine) and "oeuvre" (work). It deliberately alludes to "main d'oeuvre" (craft) and "chef d'oeuvre" (masterpiece). Isabella & Stéphane are vin d'oeuvre, because that is exactly what their wines want to convey: Top quality paired with race and elegance - gained through their work in the vines and in the cellar.

More about the grape variety

Pinot Noir

«King of the red wines»

Pinot Noir is by far the most widespread variety in Valais. It originated in Burgundy and was introduced by the State Council in 1848. It was introduced in 1848 by the State Council, which wanted to give a new impetus to winegrowing in the Valais, which was undergoing a fundamental transformation at the time. It found its second home on the calcareous and magnesium-rich soils of the Valais.

The Pinot Noir, precocious and equally resistant to heat and cold, is popular in the Valais. It produces wines of very different expressions, which is favoured by the great diversity of terroirs in the Valais. It can be drunk young, but age gives it dignity, nobility and distinction.
