Founded in 1968 by Jacques Germanier, an oenologist, the Cave du Tunnel has developed and grown in perfect harmony with its time and its environment. With vision and a constant ear for the market and its consumers, it is now known and recognized at national and international level. This dynamic company was one of the pioneers for many wine estates, particularly in terms of diversification and the blending of noble grapes from Valais.
At the end of the 1980s, Jacques Germanier became a pioneer in Swiss viticulture when he launched a sparkling wine based on Chardonnay: Brut du Valais. In 1989, tunnels were dug into the rock in order to meet strict specifications and create a Brut that could be matured and stored under constant temperature conditions all year round. It had to be able to stand up to comparison with the best champagnes. And the many awards prove them right...
